When a mother from the diaspora brought her children to Tanzania for the first time, they were captivated and surprised by the art, beauty, and heritage surrounding them. They realised that despite growing up in London, they had never been taught about African art or history. That revelation changed everything.
If her own children were unaware of their roots, how many others were missing the same connection? Determined to bridge that gap, we began documenting and sharing East Africa’s vast cultural heritage bringing its art, traditions, and stories to the world. From that spark, True Tanzania was born: a movement to reconnect people everywhere with the depth, creativity, and humanity of Africa.
